King’s Lynn Hanse Festival

Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2015

You won’t be surprised to hear that we love to take part in celebrating the hanseatic history of our town, and this year is even more significant, as King’s Lynn will have been a member of the new Hanse for 10 years.

Last year’s event was a great success (take a look at our Past Events here) and this year looks set to be even better!

Here at Hanse House there will be demonstrations of medieval trades by highly skilled artisans and craftsmen, fire-breathing, storytelling; you can watch displays of archery and dancing, and have a go yourself!  The indoor market will be focused on medieval trading and there will be music by the King’s Lynn Waites.

We’re also really looking forward to the arrival of the Kampe Kogge, a replica of a 14th century Dutch Hanseatic Kogge, that will be moored on the visitor pontoons for the weekend.

There’s so much going on we can’t list it all, but BCKLWN have put a website together where you can find details of all the events and activities over the weekend, available at:  www.kingslynnhansefestival.co.uk.

Information is also available on the King’s Lynn Hanse Festival Facebook page, here.

If you’d like to dine in The Rathskeller the weekend of the Hanse Festival, please book as soon as possible on 01553 773713!
